Marseille v Lens

Only 17 games into his tenure, Jorge Sampaoli has Marseille playing with purpose and the Ligue 1 club already seem as though they could become a regular in accumulators this season.

Following a summer revamp which saw a slew of top loan signings as well as Brazilian midfielder Gerson, defender Leonardo Balerdi and winger Konrad de la Fuente joining on a permanent basis, Marseille have won four and drawn two of their first six league games.

Big wins over Monaco and Rennes recently were followed by an anti-climactic draw with improving Angers but Marseille can return to winning ways this week against Lens.

Lens were beaten by Strasbourg last time out, losing defender Kevin Danso to a red card in the process, and they could struggle to tame a Marseille team who could be PSG's closest title challengers.

Real Betis v Getafe

Real Betis opened their Europa League group stage campaign with a pulsating 4-3 win over Celtic but the Andalusian outfit are not allowing continental commitments to distract them from their domestic duties.

They won their most recent La Liga contest 3-1 away to Osasuna and have lost only once in their first six league fixtures.

Their only defeat was a 1-0 home loss to fast-starters Real Madrid and they should be fancied to get the better of Getafe this week.

Getafe have made a woeful start to the campaign with six straight La Liga defeats and in the latest loss - a 2-1 reverse against Atletico Madrid - they saw important creative midfielder Carles Alena sent off.

Without Alena in their ranks, their chances of success against Betis look even slimmer and they are worth opposing.
