Nottinghamshire skipper Dan Christian can lead by example at Trent Bridge
Worcestershire have a dangerous side
Nottinghamshire v Worcestershire
Sky Sports Cricket, 7pm Saturday
Nottinghamshire, defending champions in the T20 Blast, face a dangerous Worcestershire side at Trent Bridge, and the Outlaws are hoping for a big performance from captain Dan Christian.
The Australian all-rounder started the Blast with a bang, smashing 113 not out off just 40 balls against Northamptonshire.
Unsurprisingly, he was named man of the match after that blitz and he also picked up the award thanks to his 62 and 3-34 against Derbyshire.
In between those displays Christian scored 47 and took 2-32 against Leicestershire and he has played a big role as Notts won their last two home matches.
He is striking the ball as well as ever, hitting an unbeaten 36 off 17 balls against Lancashire and 39 not out off 25 against Derbyshire.
The Aussie has taken three catches and two wickets in those two home games and the 12-1 about the Notts skipper winning the man-of-the-match award looks appealing.
Worcestershire had won five of their first eight Blast matches before Friday night’s clash with in-form Durham.
They have been forced into changes at the top of the order, however, after the departures of overseas batsmen Travis Head and Martin Guptill, who broke Christian’s record for the fastest Blast century this summer.
The Rapids have some classy replacements, though, with Moeen Ali – left out of England’s Test team – and Callum Ferguson of Australia returning to the squad along with South Africa paceman Wayne Parnell.
Their last two victories have come against Northamptonshire, who are adrift at the bottom of the North Group, and the double-header against leaders Durham and last year’s winners Notts should provide a far tougher test.
