Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills predictions

After a promising start to the season, the mask has slipped for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who look braced for a rough night when they visit Buffalo to take on the Bills.

Despite three fumbles from Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder, the Bucs fell to a 16-13 defeat against Atlanta on Sunday, their third loss in four games.

Two of their three wins came against underachieving teams in the Bears and the Saints and it's becoming increasingly apparent they will struggle when taking on stronger outfits, which is the case with Week Eight opponents Buffalo.

The Bills looked listless last week in a surprise loss against New England, but that can happen in divisional games and Buffalo had to cope with injury issues in defence.

The picture has improved this week, with defensive lineman Ed Oliver returning to practice and Von Miller reportedly being in a “good spot” according to head coach Sean McDermott. 

With an injury to tight end Dawson Knox, the Bills will also be deploying more three-wide receiver sets, which is where the Buccaneers have struggled defensively.

The Bucs have stuck with a mediocre run game and quarterback Baker Mayfield expressed his frustration in public this week, saying: "We’re finding out we’re not a run-first team," which was far from a ringing endorsement of his running backs or offensive coordinator. 

That doesn’t spell success on the road against a Buffalo team who will be desperate to bounce back following two losses in three games.
