New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees has led the NFL passing yards charts for four of the last five years, but this could be the season he is finally eclipsed by Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger.

The pair remarkably shared the honour two years ago, and Roethlisberger would have been miles ahead of the 37-year-old Saint last season had injury not restricted him to just 11 regular-season starts. Despite his restricted campaign, Big Ben still threw 62 yards short of 4,000 and his average of 328.2 yards per game was not only the best in the league but the third-highest ever recorded.

If the Steelers are to make a charge for the Super Bowl and Roethlisberger is to take his third ring, the offence will be key and he has arguably the best receiver in the league, Antonio Brown, to throw the ball to.
