New York Jets at New England Patriots

The Patriots have won the last 11 meetings with their AFC East divisional rivals and there’s little evidence the Jets can buck that trend.

New York have had a bye week to mull over their poor showing in London against the Falcons as they dropped to 1-4 with their offence by some distance the worst in the league, averaging 13.4 points per game.

Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is finding the transition to the NFL tough and won’t enjoy pitting his wits against rookie quarterback destroyer Bill Belichick, who is 12-0 at home against first-year QBs in his Pats coaching career.

New England have won the last five meetings at Gillette Stadium by 14 points or more and should bounce back from the narrow loss to the Cowboys in good fashion.

Washington Football Team at Green Bay Packers

Green Bay have won their last five to move to the top of the NFC North division, covering the handicap on each occasion. Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams have got on the same page in the last two weeks, combining for 295 yards, while the run game looks in good order and the defence has been boosted by the acquisition of Whitney Mercilus this week.

They look to have more than enough tools to take down a Washington team that has covered the spread just once this season.

The Football Team’s offence is struggling with injuries and quarterback Taylor Heinicke has failed to get the best of what’s left of his attacking options. With the defence giving up 31 points per game on average, they look ill-equipped to compete with the Packers.

Philadelphia Eagles at Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas picked up an emotional win at Denver in their first outing following head coach Jon Gruden’s departure and look prime candidates to take a step back against the Eagles.

The Raiders have covered the handicap in just one of their last six home games as the favourite and won’t find it easy to get off the big plays that have kept them in games against a Philadelphia side that has only given up 11 passes of 20 yards or more this year.

The Eagles have covered the handicap in their last two games and have performed well on the road this year, winning two of their three away games. A few extra days to prepare for the trip to Vegas won’t have hurt either and can bring the Raiders back to earth.

Indianapolis Colts at San Francisco 49ers

The Colts look to have got their act together after starting the season 0-4 and head to San Francisco off the back of two wins from their last three games. They handled the Houston Texans with ease last time out and remain in the race for the AFC South title as a result.

Carson Wentz has looked very comfortable in the Colts offence after a rocky start, while running back Jonathan Taylor has got into his stride, putting up a season-best 145 yards against the Texans.

The 49ers went into their bye week on the back of three straight defeats and are 1-4 against the spread this season. San Fran have once again been hit hard by injuries and are without star tight end George Kittle for this game, although they do get back starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for this one.

The Niners are likely to try to grind down the Colts with their rushing attack but Indy possess the best run defence in the league and have enough tools to keep the hosts in check.
