Best bet
Indianapolis Colts v Pittsburgh Steelers

There was plenty of doom and gloom surrounding Indianapolis at the start of the season following the shock retirement of star quarterback Andrew Luck.

However, they continue to prove the nay-sayers wrong and victory over Denver last week propelled them to the top of the AFC South with a 5-2 record.

QB Jacoby Brissett has more than stepped up to the plate, throwing 14 touchdown passes and just three interceptions, and with five wins from their last six games the Colts look to be well in contention for a spot in the playoffs.

They will have to do it without star receiver TY Hilton, who is out with a calf injury, but take on a Pittsburgh team who have had their own QB issues. Starter Ben Roethlisberger was ruled out for the season in their second game, and they have even had to make do without back-up Mason Rudolph after he was knocked unconscious against Baltimore.

Despite that, they find themselves with a respectable 3-4 record and three of those defeats were by four or fewer points.

Similarly each of Indianapolis’ games have been decided by less than a score, indicating their ability to get the job done in close contests, and that should stand Frank Reich’s side in good stead as they look to contain a Steelers offence who have consistently put points on the board.

However, they showed in their game against winless Miami that they are prone to mistakes, and with star linebacker Darius Leonard back in business the Colts should be able to sufficiently shut down the Steelers.

Next best bet
Tennessee Titans +3.5 v Carolina Panthers

Tennessee have won their last two games since introducing Ryan Tannehill as starting quarterback in place of Marcus Mariota, and they can continue their upward curve when they take on Carolina.

Tannehill has thrown five touchdowns in those games and reignited a spark on the Titans offence who were relying heavily on star running back Derrick Henry.

That is likely to worry Panthers coach Ron Rivera, who last week saw his team ship 51 points against San Francisco. That followed games in which they conceded 27 points to Jacksonville and 26 to Tampa Bay.

There are also questions around how rookie quarterback Kyle Allen will respond to that defeat after throwing three interceptions, particularly against a defence who have conceded the third-fewest points in the AFC.

While running back Christian McCaffrey is likely to cause problems, Tennessee should have the tools to frustrate Carolina and potentially sneak another win.

Best points bet
Over 12 Washington Redskins points v Buffalo Bills

Washington's dismal offence are taking on Buffalo’s rigid defence, but there is reason to believe the Redskins can put points on the board.

Three of their last four games have seen them register single-digit scores, including where they drew a blank against San Francisco, but their performances against Philadelphia, Dallas and Chicago highlight that there is some ability there and it is worth taking a chance with such a low points line.

Rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins is set to make his first start and given the Bills have dropped off somewhat, shipping 31 points against Philadelphia and three touchdowns to Miami, Washington could spring a surprise.

Best player bet
Peyton Barber to score a touchdown in Tampa Bay at Seattle

Despite their poor record Tampa Bay have not struggled to put points on the board, and Peyton Barber looks a good price to find the end zone for the Bucs.

Seattle have conceded seven rushing touchdowns in their last four matches, and Barber is expected to earn more carries over fellow running back Ronald Jones.
