Best bet
Detroit Lions -3.5 at Washington Redskins

Detroit are unfortunate to find themselves on a 3-6-1 record and at the foot of the NFC North, but they should get another victory on the board at Washington.

Five of their six defeats this season have been within one score, and even with quarterback Matthew Stafford on the sidelines with a back injury, the Lions have continued to put points on the board.

Back-up Jeff Driskel showed his versatility in last week’s 35-27 defeat to Dallas, throwing two touchdowns and running one in himself. Those took Detroit’s passing touchdown tally to 22 - the third-most in the league - and they have averaged 281 yards per game in the air.

In addition, wide receivers Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones have found the end zone eight times each, and are joint-top of the receiving touchdown leaderboard.

Matt Patricia’s team have scored 22 points or more in eight of their ten games this season, while Washington have not topped that tally since the opening day of the season.

The Redskins have scored the fewest points in the NFL and their offensive struggles were on display again in last week’s 34-17 defeat to the Jets.

Despite forcing two turnovers inside the 30-yard line, Washington were able to convert them into only three points, with their remaining 14 coming while they were 34-3 down in the fourth quarter and the game was all but over.

There are plenty of issues within the team and while rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins could find some rhythm against a struggling Lions defence, Detroit should comfortably outscore their opponents.

Next best bet
Denver Broncos +4 at Buffalo Bills

Denver suffered another heartbreaking defeat last week as they gave up a 20-point lead to lose 27-23 to Minnesota, but should be involved in another close game against Buffalo.

The Broncos have looked a lot better than their 3-7 record suggests and their victory over Cleveland three weeks ago highlighted the ability of quarterback Brandon Allen and running back Phillip Lindsay to move the ball on offence.

Their defensive effort in holding the Browns to four field goals in the first half should not be underestimated.

Buffalo look well set for the playoffs but quarterback Josh Allen remains unconvincing and with a low-scoring clash expected, Denver should keep pace with their opponents.

Best points bet
Over 40 points in New York Giants at Chicago Bears

The Giants head to Soldier Field to take on the Bears and there is reason to believe there will be plenty of scores.

Chicago’s offence has been woeful at times this season but they are taking on a side who have given up at least 27 points in their last six games.

Their last match was against local rivals the Jets, who at the time had scored the fewest points in the NFL, and even they managed to put 34 on the board.

However, they haven’t struggled to move the chains themselves, and quarterback Daniel Jones has thrown nine touchdown passes in their last three games.

While the Bears are known for their rigid defence, they haven’t been as strong as last year and could have their hands full with Giants running back Saquon Barkley.

Best player bet
Cameron Brate to score a touchdown in Tampa Bay at Atlanta

Cameron Brate had ten receptions for 73 yards last week against New Orleans and is a big price to put points on the board this week at Atlanta.

He has found the end zone only twice this season but should have chances to score given Tampa Bay's high-tempo nature on offence.
