Game preview

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is set to play his first game since September due to rookie Daniel Jones suffering an ankle injury, and the two-time Super Bowl winner could inspire his offence to a decent performance against Philadelphia.

The Giants are 2-10, but their offence has not been their big problem - only three teams have conceded more points than them.

Running back Saquon Barkley showed signs of returning to form last week with 115 total yards against Green Bay and will need to be at his best to trouble an Eagles run defence who have allowed the fourth-fewest yards in the league.

Philadelphia remain in the playoff hunt in the sorry NFC East despite being 5-7, but they suffered their worst result of the season last week when they were beaten 37-31 by Miami.

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and receiver DeVante Parker ran riot against the Eagles, who have now allowed 22 passing touchdowns this season, which must be an area of concern for head coach Doug Pederson.

With Golden Tate cleared to play and Sterling Shepard back up to speed after a mid-season absence, Manning should have a strong array of weapons at his disposal and can help the Giants to put a decent total on the scoreboard.
