The Kansas City Chiefs have found their form again after looking strangely subdued in the first half of this season, but the reigning AFC champions are worth opposing in Thursday night's AFC West showdown with the Chargers.

The Chiefs are riding high after a commanding 48-9 win over the Raiders last week, but it may be too soon to declare that all of their problems are over.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offence were humming again against the Raiders, but they are the perfect opponents for KC as they play a rigid style of defence that the Chiefs know how to exploit.

The Chiefs’ only other strong offensive show in recent weeks was also against the Raiders, but they’ve generally struggled otherwise. They haven’t scored more than 22 points against any other team since mid-October.

The Chargers’ offence has also improved recently and they seem to have resolved some issues during their bye week.

The Chiefs have allowed only nine points in each of their last three games, but talk of a defensive resurgence may be overblown. They have faced some weak offences lately and they’ve also had some good fortune, such as facing the Packers in the only week Aaron Rodgers was not available.

This is their biggest challenge for a while, and they lost their first meeting with the Chargers 30-24 in Week Three. Take the Chargers and the points.
