We’ve got a huge game kicking off Week 16 of the NFL season as the Jacksonville Jaguars battle the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football.

Both teams are fighting hard to reach the playoffs, with the Jags just one game behind the Titans in the AFC South and the Jets one win back from the Dolphins and Chargers for the wild-card spots.

However, both teams have been in very different form of late.

Since starting the season 2-6, the Jaguars have found new life with quarterback Trevor Lawrence finally beginning to deliver on his potential. Jacksonville have won four of their last six games and earned a huge and unexpected 40-34 win over the Cowboys last week.

Lawrence has thrown 14 touchdown passes and just one interception in those six games, and it’s hard to see the Jets keeping up with that kind of proficiency.

New York have won just one of their last four games and quarterback Mike White could once again be missing as he deals with a rib injury.

That would mean Zach Wilson is once again calling the shots, and although the second-year QB had a serviceable game against the Lions, he still completed barely 50 per cent of his throws and missed a number of easy passes.

The Jets defence will likely be Lawrence’s toughest test to date but he proved against the Cowboys that he is capable of navigating through strong units and getting points on the board.

When looking at the form of these teams and how they’ve played, the Jaguars look the smart bet to make in what is essentially a pick'em.
