Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs preview 

Kansas City have relied more on defence than their formerly prolific offence in the last couple of seasons, while Houston have the top-ranked defence in the league this year, so points could be thin on the ground when they meet at Arrowhead on Sunday night.

The Texans are conceding a league-best 16.5 points and 265.7 yards per game on average, and they should be able to make life tough for a Chiefs offence which has not hit the heights of the glory days of the Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes era.

Mahomes has been sacked 27 times in 12 games and he struggled against the stronger defences of the Chargers, Eagles and Broncos. With the Chiefs still affected by offensive line injuries and the Texans likely to contain their running game, a low-scoring battle looks on the cards in Missouri.

Texans quarterback CJ Stroud was solid if unspectacular on his return from injury against the Colts last week, and in likely challenging weather at Arrowhead, going low on points seems a sensible strategy.
