San Francisco put in a dominant display in their 27-10 victory over Minnesota last week, and could do the same to Green Bay to book their place in Super Bowl LIV.

The 49ers have been renowned for their strength on defence all season, allowing the fewest passing yards in the league and the second-fewest yards overall.

That was firmly on display as they shut out the Vikings completely in the second half and held them to just seven first downs all game - the third-fewest in a playoff game ever.

They now turn their attention to Green Bay, who survived a rallying effort from Seattle last week to come out on top.

Despite finishing with a 13-3 record the Packers have been unconvincing throughout the year but have tended to do enough to eke out a win. Their late win over Detroit on the last day of the regular season was a prime example.

They have looked sharper on offence with quarterback Aaron Rodgers showing superb chemistry with wide receiver Davante Adams, while running back Aaron Jones continues to find the end zone.

But Green Bay give the impression they could be found out by a top-class team, and the fact they were beaten 37-8 by the 49ers less than two months ago will do little for their confidence.

They will have their hands full with San Francisco’s red-hot backfield of Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman, and with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo showing great rapport with tight end George Kittle, the Packers face a tall order to overcome the odds and make it to the Super Bowl.
