Game preview

Detroit bounced back from three successive defeats with victory over the New York Giants last week, and they could add another success when they take on Oakland.

It will be the first game the Raiders have played in Oakland since the middle of September, having given up one home match to play Chicago in London, which was sandwiched between four road games.

That lack of home comfort could unsettle the hosts, who since that victory over the Bears have been trounced by Green Bay and lost a high-scoring affair to Houston.

That is likely to be of concern to head coach Jon Gruden, who must now prepare his defence to take on a Detroit side who have racked up 30 points or more in three of their last four fixtures.

While the running game of the Lions has stalled since Kerryon Johnson was injured, their passing attack has been phenomenal.

Matthew Stafford has thrown ten touchdowns in those four games, with receivers Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay and veteran Danny Amendola all contributing.

Though Detroit have themselves given up the most passing yards of any team this season, the Raiders are third on that list and, having conceded at least 24 points in their last six games, they could struggle to keep up with the Lions.
