An interesting AFC match-up kicks off Week 12 in the NFL as the Buffalo Bills visit the Houston Texans on Thursday night. 

The Bills (7-3) are trailing the red-hot New England Patriots (9-2) in the AFC East while the Texans (5-5) are in third place in the AFC South.

Buffalo bounced back to form last week with a thrilling 44-32 home win over Tampa Bay, but points may be harder to come by when they visit a solid Houston team in the opening contest of Week 12.

The 7-3 Bills had endured an awful 30-13 road defeat at the hands of Miami the previous week, but star quarterback Josh Allen passed for three touchdowns and ran in three more as the Bucs were put to the sword.

Houston have improved to reach 5-5 after a 0-3 start and have won their last two games, but they struggled to put the league's worst team, the 1-9 Tennessee Titans, to bed last week, winning a scrappy game 16-13.

The Texans' defence ranks first in the league for yards allowed at just 258.1 per game, and this could be another close and relatively low-scoring clash similar to Houston's 23-20 win in the teams' last meeting.

The hosts have conceded only 16.3 points per game on average this season but they are again set to be without first-choice quarterback CJ Stroud (concussion) and Davis Mills may not have much success against the Bills' defence.

Last season the Texans restricted Allen to just 131 passing yards. While he should do better this time, the total points line may prove to be a tad high.
