Bears can drag Rams into low-scoring affair

Top Chicago defence out to contain LA attack

The Rams make the daunting trip east to Soldier Field knowing that victory will secure them one of the top two seedings in the NFC and a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

However, that’s easier said than done for head coach Sean McVay, as his side go up against a Bears defence who have been running riot this season and have given up the second-fewest rushing yards in the league.

That could be bad news for running back Todd Gurley, who has the most yards on the ground and has scored 19 touchdowns, and Chicago will know that stopping him could be key to victory.

Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is set to return but he is likely to still be feeling the effects of the shoulder injury that sidelined him for two weeks.

Chicago’s hopes depend on their defence limiting the offensive production of the Rams, and that could lead to a low-scoring affair.

The Rams, who won an epic encounter 54-51 against the Chiefs recently, have topped 30 points in ten of their 12 games this season, but battling under the lights in the Windy City is no easy feat and they could be dragged into a real slugfest if Bears coach Matt Nagy has his way.
