Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers preview

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the Thursday night spotlight in Week 15 of the NFL season but they might have preferred to keep a lower profile given their poor form.

The Bucs have lost four of their last five games after a strong start to the NFC South season, but they have a good chance of turning things around when they face the Atlanta, who have already been eliminated from the playoff race.

The Falcons seem to be a lost cause despite their offensive talent and head coach Raheem Morris has been unable to come up with answers. Their only win in the last eight weeks was against fellow strugglers the New Orleans Saints.

Veteran Kirk Cousins has returned at quarterback after an injury to Michael Penix Jr. but looks over the hill and threw two interceptions last week.

Their defence also struggled on Sunday as the Seahawks scored 31 points in the second half.

The Bucs flopped against the Saints last week, when QB Baker Mayfield passed for just 122 yards, but on the positive side their injury issues are clearing up. Wide receiver Mike Evans and star offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs are nearing a return to action.

With the Carolina Panthers growing stronger, the Bucs really need to win this home fixture and they should be able to cover the handicap.
