Game six
Sky Sports Arena, 2am Thursday night

There may well be tears shed in Oakland after game six of the NBA Finals – and not just because this is the last time Golden State will be gracing the Oracle Arena.

The Warriors are off to San Francisco next season and their fans are desperate to sign off with a win which would force a deciding game to determine the NBA champions.

But they may not get their wish with Toronto poised to ruin the Dubs’ farewell in more ways than one.

The Raptors have basically been the better team over the course of this series and fully deserve their 3-2 lead. The return of Kevin Durant for 12 minutes in Toronto on Monday gave the champions a massive and timely lift, but it came at a price with the All-Star leaving the court on crutches with a damaged Achilles. Toronto have excelled when the Warriors have been without Durant and Golden State look far more beatable.

Toronto also know they have the measure of the Warriors in California – they have played in Oakland three times this season and won all three – and they have the belief and the players behind Kawhi Leonard to extend their dominance.

Steph Curry is carrying Golden State like never before but he looks shattered, whereas the Raptors bench is contributing in bucketloads with Fred VanVleet and Serge Ibaka playing important roles.

Recommendation
Toronto
