NBA Finals game four predictions

The Indiana Pacers defied both the pre-match and in-play odds once again in game three. Not only did Indy win at odds of 9-5, they did so despite trailing by five points at the start of  the fourth quarter, rallying back to win 116-107 and take a 2-1 lead in the series.

That is some feat given many predicted the Pacers would be swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder before the finals started and they may not be done there as Rick Carlisle's side would love to leave this two-game home stretch with a 3-1 lead.

However, the Pacers were blown out in game two after winning the series opener and the Thunder, who went 68-14 in the regular season and are led by the NBA's MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, cannot be ruled out entirely.

So it could be a smarter punting play to look at the player markets, specifically focusing on Indiana's secondary stars.

While Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam each enjoyed a strong game three, it was the Pacers' bench boys who were most pivotal to that victory. When Indy's starting five were all on court they were outscored by an aggregate of ten points while every other combination of players enjoyed a +19 return.

Bennedict Mathurin was at the heart of that, racking up a game-high 27 points, and he can clear an 11.5 points line for the fifth time in seven games.

TJ McConnell was also influential from the bench, on both ends of the court. He put up a solid ten points as well as a sensational five steals and should enjoy himself against the Thunder once again, having notched at least ten points and one steal in the three previous games of this series.
