Nagelsmann odds-on to become Bayern Munich's next manager
Ancelotti sacked by German giants
Carlo Ancelotti has been sensationally sacked as Bayern Munich's manager and the betting suggests the German giants will be making a youthful appointment to replace the dumped Italian.
Julian Nagelsmann, 30, is odds-on for the Allianz Arena vacancy. BoyleSports are offering 8-13 but the highly rated Hoffenheim coach is as short as 1-3 elsewhere to take charge of the Bundesliga champions.
It has long been assumed that Nagelsmann would one day get the job and it was expected to happen next summer, but the sudden axing of Ancelotti may bring those plans forward.
The Bavaria-born Nagelsmann, who called the Bayern role his dream job, has made a stunning start to life as a senior manager following his promotion after enjoying great success as Hoffenheim's youth coach.
Nagelsmann first saved Hoffenheim from relegation in his debut season before leading them to a fourth-placed finish in the second campaign.
His side were knocked out of the Champions League playoff by Liverpool but Nagelsmann's reputation has continued to grow, particularly since Hoffenheim toppled Bayern in the Bundesliga earlier this term.
That was an early sign that all was not well for Ancelotti in Munich and his misery was ended after the club reacted strongly to Wednesday's 3-0 defeat away to Paris St-Germain in the Champions League.
Ancelotti benched Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Mats Hummels, while there was no place in the Paris squad for World Cup winning centre-back Jerome Boateng.
Assistant Willy Sagnol has been promoted on a temporary basis and will lead the club into battle against Hertha in Berlin on Sunday. The caretaker is 3-1 with Betway to get the gig permanently.
Thomas Tuchel, who departed Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season, is seen as the other realistic option at 9-1 with Sky Bet while Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp is 16-1.
