Match preview

Multan Sultans topped the regular-season table in the Pakistan Super League but they do not look rock-solid favourites to see off Peshawar Zalmi in the first semi-final.

The Sultans finished their league campaign with a nine-wicket drubbing against Lahore, who chased down a target of 187 with some ease, and in their previous game they beat Peshawar by just three runs.

Moeen Ali and Ravi Bopara will line up for Multan alongside exuberant leg-spinning veterans Shahid Afridi and Imran Tahir, but most of Peshawar's overseas players opted to return home early due to the coronavirus pandemic.

They retain a strong and experienced Pakistani core including mercurial opener Kamran Akmal, bespectacled batsman Imam-ul-Haq and left-arm quick Wahab Riaz, who tends to rise to the big occasion.

Wahab took over the captaincy from Darren Sammy early in the tournament, having taken 5-8 in his final appearance for Dhaka Platoon in the Bangladesh Premier League on December 30.

Only two bowlers have taken more than his 11 wickets in the 2020 PSL and he can exceed bet365's performance line of 30.5, with one point awarded per run, ten per catch and 20 per wicket.

He promoted himself to number three in the batting order after the exodus of overseas players and a repeat of that experiment would be a further boost to the chances of this bet winning.
