Speedy Holder is fancied to bounce back after hiccup

Chris Holder had no luck in Stockholm two weeks ago when he looked to have the speed to claim an overdue grand prix success, but back him to get it right in Torun on Saturday.

The Australian, world champ­ion in 2012, has bounced back from a wretched start to his GP campaign with a switch in engine producing a switch in fortunes.

He made the final in Teterow last month and was heading for another one in Stockholm after taking the lead in his semi-final. However, Emil Sayfutdinov's fall prompted a restart and Holder was then disqualified for his role in Peter Kildemand hitting the shale.

Holder's hopes of making the top eight and an automatic return to the 2018 campaign look remote but he's finishing the season fast and merits an each-way bet in Poland.

Matej Zagar, the man currently occupying eighth place, is 11-2 as he chases a third straight race win which means he's disputing favouritism with Jason Doyle, who is 22 points clear with two rounds of racing to go.

With such an advantage Doyle may well opt for a cautious approach, accumulating points in a no-risk strategy to ensure he has wrapped up the title before heading to the season's finale in his native Australia.

He has left Torun in an ambulance on two of his last three visits, so could be easily forgiven for playing it safe.
