Freddie Lindgren needs to get a move on if he is to be a factor in the world championship shake-up at the end of the season, and he can start by showing some speed in his home grand prix in Malilla.

Fast Freddie had a night to forget in Wroclaw two weeks ago, chalking up just five points to tumble out of the title reckoning.

Lindgren, third in the championship last year, is back on shale he knows well as a former Dackarna rider and at the halfway point of the season certainly won’t have ruled out the possibility of clawing back a 14-point deficit on the pacesetters.

The Swede goes into the Scandinavian GP a big price despite showing his bike and his speed were in tip-top shape last week with a 14-point haul riding for Czestochowa in the Polish League.

Lindgren hasn’t reached a final since the opening meet of the year and is due some good fortune in front of his home fans.

In the outright standings it’s a three-way tie at the top between Bartosz Zmarzlik, Emil Sayfutdinov and Leon Madsen, who are all on 61 points.

Madsen heads for Sweden under an injury cloud after damaging his ankle in a fall.

Recommendation
F Lindgren
