Not even having his fastest qualifying lap taken off him could stop Lewis Hamilton from claiming pole position for today’s British Grand Prix, and he is a 4-9 chance to earn a fourth victory in five races.
That would be a good omen for the Mercedes ace. The three previous years Hamilton won at Silverstone – in 2008, 2014 and 2015 – coincide with his three world championships.
