Marc Marquez remains the unquestioned king of the Sachsenring after taking his eighth straight pole position at the track in all classes in German Grand Prix qualifying.

You won't get rich backing him at prices no bigger than 4-11 to convert it into a race victory, however.

Marquez has been one of the few riders to be quick under wet and dry conditions this weekend so the likelihood of a dry race will be no problem for him.

However, there are three podium spots up for grabs and there should be some value in the each-way market.

Danilo Petrucci is an emerging force this season and got within 0.16 seconds of claiming his first pole position in the senior class, but the Italian has been seen in a better light in the wet this weekend.

The Yamahas of Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales are a lowly ninth and 11th on the grid but Vinales in particular looks worth a bet to cut through the field if the track is dry.

The Spaniard clashed with Marquez in qualifying and will be determined to get after him in the race.

He was second in Friday's only dry session, the first practice, and behind only Marquez in the dry practice on Saturday morning. He looks a decent bet at 18-1.

Another outsider to consider is German hopeful Jonas Folger. The rookie has two sixth-place finishes to date but can set a career best on his home track where he was a close second after starting 13th on the grid in last year's Moto2 race.

Folger was third to Marquez and Vinales in the dry third practice and is a promising fifth on the grid.

Aleix Espargaro has been consistent in all conditions, while Britain's Cal Crutchlow should be targeting a top-five finish too.

Leading grid positions: 1 M Marquez, 2D Petrucci, 3 D Pedrosa, 4C Crutchlow, 5J Folger, 6 J Lorenzo, 7 P Espargaro, 8A Espargaro, 9 V Rossi, 10 A Dovizioso, 11M Vinales, 12 A Bautista.
