Dutch TT: race preview, betting news and tip
Maverick Vinales's extra experience could be crucial
BT Sport 2, 1pm Sunday
French flyer Fabio Quartararo made it back-to-back pole positions in qualifying for the Dutch TT on Saturday but the 20-year-old from Nice still has to convince that he can get the job done over a race distance.
The 20-year-old Petronas Yamaha rider has been sensational on Saturdays in his rookie season, with qualifying form of 5-7-9-10-2-1-1.
But last time out in the Calalan GP was the first time he has finished higer than seventh in a race - he was runner-up to Marc Marquez but might well have finished lower if not for the early crash that took out four top contenders.
Marquez has looked human for once this weekend. Third place in P3 was his best practice placing and he will line up fourth on the grid.
Preference for a race bet goes to Maverick Vinales, who has looked strong all weekend. Second to Quartararo in P1, he topped the times in P2. He was second to Quartararo again in Saturday's warm-up session before filling the same slot in qualifying.
His extra experience could be crucial in the race, although Quartararo has shown that if he can get clear of the pack he will be hard to peg back as he is so rapid when riding alone.
Recommendation
M Vinales
