Azerbaijan Grand Prix practice betting preview, tips & TV channel
Sebastian Vettel can showcase Ferrari's improvement in Baku
Practice one: Sky Sports F1, 10am Friday
Practice two: Sky Sports F1, 2pm Friday
It has been a perfect season for Mercedes so far with one-two finishes in all three races, but Ferrari will be hopeful of hitting back in Baku.
The Azerbaijan circuit largely comprises narrow roads and tight corners, but a mammoth 1.4-mile straight means good top speed is also important.
That should suit Ferrari down to the ground - much better than in Shanghai last time where the red cars were unable to cope with Mercedes' pace through the sweeping turns.
Championship leader Lewis Hamilton heads the betting for pole position and the race win.
The Briton is also favourite to go fastest in first practice, but Sebastian Vettel could offer better value in that market.
The German four-time world champion has been somewhat overshadowed by his new teammate Charles Leclerc at Ferrari but Vettel has a decent record in Azerbaijan where he started from pole position last year.
Vettel has been in the top two on the timesheets in the opening session at every grand prix this year. Ferrari have some updates for the car for this race, and the experienced Vettel is likely to be given priority over Leclerc in terms of testing them out.
Honda have taken an improved engine to Baku, which should give a reliability and power boost to Red Bull and Toro Rosso.
Recommendation
S Vettel fastest in practice one
