All eyes in the world of football will be on Liverpool's attempt to dethrone European champions Real Madrid on Saturday night, but just a day later the city will be the focus of mixed martial arts fans when the UFC makes its debut on Merseyside.

The reason for the organisation coming to town is down to one man, Darren Till, who is perhaps the most exciting British prospect to ever enter the Octagon.

Still relatively unknown outside MMA circles, Liverpool welterweight Till has the potential to become the first major UK crossover star, and while he may lack the swagger and flamboyance of Ireland's Conor McGregor his fighting skills are box-office gold.

Such is the buzz around Till even the BBC have latched on to the event, with the entire main card set to be broadcast live on 5 Live Sports Extra, while all tickets sold out within an hour of being put on sale.

Till takes on American Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson at the Echo Arena and it's a pick 'em according to bookmakers, with some firms going 10-11 each of two.
