Kristina Mladenovic takes on her regular doubles partner Timea Babos in the first round of the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic and there's a case for siding with the Frenchwoman.
Mladenovic is a better player than Babos and the reason punters are getting to back her at such decent odds could be that the Hungarian is seeded in San Jose, despite the fact that she's not having the best of campaigns.
Mladenovic was pipped 7-5 7-6 by Serena Williams at Wimbledon earlier this month but she simply did not have the self-belief to get over the line against the American legend.
Babos has not won a match since May and the pressure to end that long losing run may not help the Taipei champion's chances.
Heather Watson is seldom easy to oppose, especially on US hard courts which the Briton loves playing on, but talented Claire Liu possesses such huge potential that the Californian can be supported in her home state.
Liu has been in decent nick too, having lost to Angelique Kerber at Wimbledon and Petra Martic in Bucharest.
In Kitzbuhel there has been support for Martin Klizan to start well against Sebastian Ofner.
Klizan is a fine player and went all the way in the Hamburg 500 Series event in 2016, but Ofner has shown enough potential to make him worthy of consideration in his homeland.
The Austrian may not be in peak form but at 4-6 with a start of 4.5 games he can still be considered.
