Minnows Macedonia may put up a fight against Spain

Marco Asensio has made a major impact for Real Madrid

Spain will be looking to show just why they are rated tournament favourites with a dominant display against Macedonia in Gdynia.

However, this is arguably the biggest match in Macedonia's football history and the minnows, who stunned France in qualifying, may not be easily rolled over even though Spain should land maximum points.

Macedonia edged out France by one point to make it to Poland and their 1-1 draw in Le Mans was central to them claiming top spot. That French side included Ousmane Dembele, Thomas Lemar, Adrien Rabiot, Corentin Tolisso, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Presnel Kimpembe so Spain need to be careful.

The Spanish squad have been warned and can win the game but the best value is to take them to triumph in a match featuring under 3.5 goals.

Macedonia's squad are mainly based domestically, while others are in Europe's minor leagues apart from David Babunski, who plays for Yokohama Marinos in Japan. Babunski has decent pedigree having come through Barcelona's famous La Masia academy and has been capped nine times at senior level.

The fight will be there but Spain are superior in every department with Marco Asensio fresh from scoring for Real Madrid in their Champions League final win over Juventus.

Saul Niguez is a regular for Atletico Madrid and right-back Hector Bellerin is being linked with a move from Arsenal to Barcelona, where he could potentially join up with midfielder Denis Suarez.

Spain are going to have the vast majority of possession and they also have the forwards to hurt even the best teams in this competition with Gerard Deulofeu on the wing and Sandro Ramirez or Inaki Williams leading the line.

However, the action comes thick and fast in the Euros and Spain face a much tougher test of their title credentials against Portugal on Tuesday so Albert Caledes' side could ease off.
