Betting preview

It's three events down and two to go in the men's Alpine skiing program at the 2022 Winter Olympics and Marco Odermatt looks a favourite worth backing in the giant slalom.

The Swiss skier was seventh in the downhill and failed to finish the super-G on the Yanqing hill, but he has been peerless in GS this season in the World Cup, with four wins and a second place from five events in the discipline.

Odermatt announced his arrival on the world stage at the 2018 Junior World Championships, winning all five events he entered. The 24-year-old holds a commanding lead in the overall World Cup standings having finished second last season, and he may not have finished improving yet.

Great Britain's men's curlers suffered a 9-7 loss to 2018 gold medallists USA on Friday morning, but Bruce Mouat's team bounced back by thrashing Norway 8-3 to take their record to 2-1. They take on China next, in the early hours of Sunday morning, in a contest they will probably need to win to retain any hope of earning the top seeding for the quarter-finals.
