Matthew Fitzpatrick a worthy favourite in top GB market

Soren Kjeldsen should enjoy the Silkeborg set-up

Eddie Pepperell has been carrying a wrist injury and must be feeling much more pressure than normal this week, knowing victory in the Made In Denmark would probably secure a Ryder Cup debut, and Matt Fitzpatrick is the preferred option in the top Great Britain and Ireland market.

Betfair and Paddy Power go a fifth the odds, the first five, in this market, and Fitzpatrick is worth an each-way investment. The Sheffield lad already has a Ryder Cup cap under his belt and he knows that even if he fails this year, several more appearances for Europe are likely.

Pepperell does not have that comfort, knowing this season he has probably overachieved and Paris could potentially be his only chance of teeing up against the United States. He has a form edge over Fitzpatrick, but is not as good a player, and the four-time European Tour champ, still only 23, should go well on an ideal course.

Soren Kjeldsen should also enjoy the Silkeborg set-up and the Dane can be fancied to prove too steady for Joakim Lagergren over 72 holes.
