Maidenhead could be set for back-to-back wins
Barnet can pile pain on Dagenham
Maidenhead climbed off the foot of the National League table by coming from behind to win 3-2 at home to Maidstone on Saturday and they have a great chance of making it two victories in three days when taking on fellow strugglers Braintree at Cressing Road.
It is early in the season for players to be suffering from fatigue but the bank holiday schedule has been unkind to Braintree, who had to travel back more than 300 miles from Barrow on Saturday.
The long trip will have been tough to digest because the Iron slipped to a 1-0 defeat, extending their winless start to the season to six games.
Braintree have found life tough since coming up from the National League South and it won't be easy for them to turn their season around.
Maidenhead had been playing better than their early results suggested and they should be confident of returning from Essex with maximum points.
Another club recovering from a slow start are Barnet, who can register their first home win of the season at the expense of basement boys Dagenham & Redbridge.
The Bees were busy in the summer and five of their new acquisitions came from the Daggers.
It has taken time for the squad to settle down but Barnet posted an encouraging 1-0 win at Chesterfield on Saturday, giving them a much-needed confidence boost.
John Still's men will still expect to figure in the promotion race and another victory looks likely against the Daggers, who dropped to the foot of the table after Saturday's 2-1 loss at home to Hartlepool.
