Second-season syndrome seems to have afflicted Maidenhead, who are struggling to build on a solid first campaign in the National League, but the basement boys can chalk up a much-needed victory over Maidstone at York Road.

Maidenhead have not been helped by early suspensions to midfielder Ryan Upward and defender Alan Massey, but both were back in the side for last Saturday's 2-1 loss at Hartlepool, which was an improved performance from the Berkshire side.

The Magpies can build on that effort with a victory over mid-table Maidstone, who lost 3-0 at Halifax on their last road trip.
