Preview

Lyon v Nice

From the boardwalks of Cannes to the hilltop medieval village of Eze, the French Riviera offers plenty for tourists but it is also home to one of the most exciting teams in Ligue 1 this season.

Nice are in a great position to finish best of the rest in France's top division with PSG having all but wrapped up the title.

Christophe Galtier's men are only one point adrift of second-placed Marseille, who they demolished 4-1 in the Coupe de France in midweek, and that made it seven wins in nine matches in all competitions.

They also held PSG to a 0-0 draw before beating them on penalties as part of that run and they can get the better of mid-table Lyon this Saturday.

Les Gones could be low on confidence after losing to Monaco last time out and are worth opposing against a Nice attack featuring sharp-shooters Amine Gouiri, Andy Delort and Kasper Dolberg.

Villarreal v Real Madrid

In La Liga, Villarreal are emerging as serious contenders for a top-five berth but they could be given a reality check by title hopefuls Real Madrid on Saturday.

Real's hopes of winning the Copa del Rey were brought to an end by Atheltic Bilbao this month but they have a six-point advantage at the summit of Spain's top flight after Sevilla drew with Osasuna last time out.

They may have to do without the division's leading scorer Karim Benzema, whose training has been limited due to a micro-tear in his hamstring, but the return of Vinicius Junior from suspension should give them enough attacking impetus to record a 17th league win of the season.

Bochum v Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich showed promoted Bochum what the Bundesliga is all about in September, spanking them 7-0 at the Allianz Arena, but the reverse fixture five months later could be a more balanced affair.

Bochum have since established themselves as a decent mid-table side, claiming the scalps of Hoffenheim, Freiburg and Wolfsburg as well as drawing with Borussia Dortmund since the beginning of November.

They pulled off all of those results at the Ruhrstadion, where only two of their ten league defeats have come this season.

They have also failed to score in only two of their ten home league matches in 2021-22 and both teams to score looks worth a bet in their clash with runaway leaders Bayern.
