7.45pm Friday

With the Toulon Tournament starting next week, two League of Ireland games have been cancelled this week.

The live game at Richmond Park (7.45pm, RTE2) should be a close enough encounter as Cork City attempt to climb up the Premier league table. Cork picked up just one point in their home match against St Patrick’s but hat does not tell the full story and they should be able to dig in on this occasion and get the victory.

City will be hoping to have Karl Sheppard and Conor McCormack back after both missed their 2-0 cup defeat at Bohemians on Monday. Conor McCarthy picked up an injury in the game in Dalymount, but interim boss John Cotter is hopeful that he will be available.

Pat’s have had an up-and-down campaign but they were fortunate to hold on in their last home game against Derry City and Cork, with three clean sheets out of five matches since Cotter came in, can cause them problems.

Sligo Rovers are without Bermudan defender Dante Leverock, who suffered concussion last week, for the trip to Dundalk.

Sligo have done well against Dundalk this season and can keep it tight, so a small handicap bet is advised with a couple of goals’ start.

Bohemians begin life without Dinny Corcoran, who is out for the season, and have accordingly been on the drift at home to Finn Harps.

Limerick look the bet of the weekend against Athlone Town in Division One. Athlone lost 2-0 in Limerick in round two, the start of a run of nine games which yielded one point and the concession of three goals per match on average.

Limerick have beaten Bray, Cobh and Cabinteely in their last four games and can record another success.
