Angelique Kerber and Juan Martin del Potro are the big names involved in Saturday's finals on the eve of the Australian Open and both players are likely to take the beating.

Del Potro looks to be playing well enough to thwart Auckland Classic opponent Roberto Bautista Agut, who has troubled the Argentinian in the past, while Kerber, the ante-post selection of Racing Post's Tom Bull, faces a potentially tougher time in her Sydney International decider against improving Aussie Ashleigh Barty.

The Sydney crowd will hope wildcard Alex de Minaur brings home the Australian double in his date with Daniil Medvedev, but while the wildcard has enjoyed a terrific start to 2018 it's a slight surprise to see him odds-against for the title considering his Russian rival's talent.

In the Hobart International, second seed Elise Mertens is a slight favourite to take the title with a victory over well-touted Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu (BT Sport 1, 1am Saturday).
