Best Premier League bet

Brentford v Leeds 4pm Sunday

Brentford set the tone for a successful first season in the Premier League with a 2-0 home win over Arsenal on the opening day and the Bees can sign off with a victory over relegation-threatened Leeds.

The visitors' desperation for points is clearly factored into the prices but Everton were in a similar situation last weekend when they were beaten 3-2 at home by Thomas Frank's side.

After a promising start, the Bees looked as though they might be dragged into the survival scrap during a run of seven defeats in eight games in January and February.

Since then, though, their form has been outstanding and their last ten results have included seven wins and a 0-0 draw with Tottenham.

Goals have flowed more freely since the January arrival of playmaker Christian Eriksen and the Bees have scored at least twice in all seven of those recent victories, including a famous 4-1 win at Chelsea and a 3-0 success over Southampton in their last home match.

All the pressure is on Leeds, despite their last-gasp equaliser at home to Brighton last weekend. They also needed an injury-time goal to pinch a 2-2 draw with Brentford in December's reverse fixture but may end up empty-handed on a testing trip to west London.

Best League One bet

Sunderland v Wycombe
Sky Sports Football & Main Event, 3pm Saturday

Sunderland and Wycombe have both proved hard to beat en route to the League One playoff final and both sets of supporters should steel themselves for a tense, tight promotion decider.

Last weekend's FA Cup final between Liverpool and Chelsea featured a goalless 120 minutes and the 8-1 about no goalscorer in normal time of the League One showdown looks a decent price.

Sunderland are unbeaten in 15 matches, thanks to Patrick Roberts's crucial late goal in the semi-final second leg at Sheffield Wednesday, but they have scored only four goals in their last six matches away from the Stadium of Light.

That run includes 0-0 draws at Charlton, Lincoln and Plymouth and the Black Cats, 6-5 to win in 90 minutes, may struggle to break down a gritty Wycombe side whose last six outings include wins to nil against seventh-placed Plymouth, fourth-placed Wednesday and third-placed MK Dons in the playoff semi-final first leg.

Best European bet

Marseille v Strasbourg BT Sport Extra 1, 8pm Saturday

Marseille missed the chance to seal Champions League qualification in Ligue 1 last weekend when they lost at top-three rivals Rennes and Jorge Sampaoli's men need a point at home to Strasbourg on the final day.

The draw looks a tempting price given that Marseille have been in patchy form, losing two of their last three league games and they were beaten 3-2 on aggregate by Feyenoord in the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

Dimitri Payet, their main source of creative inspiration, is sidelined after tearing a calf muscle in the 0-0 second-leg draw at home to the Dutch outfit and visitors Strasbourg will be no pushovers.

They kick off the final round of fixtures in fifth place, having lost just two of their 19 league matches in 2022. A draw would see them secure European football if Nice fail to win at Reims so it is possible that neither side will need to push for a winner if scores are level late on at the Stade Velodrome.

Weekend accumulators

Banker
Leicester
The Foxes thumped Norwich 3-0 and Watford 5-1 before Thursday's trip to Chelsea and they can claim a tenth home league win of the season against struggling Southampton.

Blowout
Nice
Nice could still qualify for Europe but, having scored just 49 goals in 37 Ligue 1 games, they are worth opposing at odds-on at Reims, who have won three of their last five matches.

Accumulator
Rennes 4-5, Chelsea 2-11, Leicester Evs, Lazio 7-10. £1 accumulator returns £7.22 with Coral.

Both teams to score
Games at Atalanta 4-6, Fiorentina 6-10, Brighton 4-6. £1 treble returns £4.46 with Hills.
