Best Premier League bet

Leicester v Leeds BT Sport 1, 12.30pm Saturday

Leeds's defensive problems cost Marcelo Bielsa his job and it may take time for successor Jesse Marsch to tighten up the Premier League strugglers.

Marsch's first game in charge, away to Leicester, certainly looks a potential goalfest as the Foxes bid to build on their 2-0 win at Burnley on Tuesday.

They had to wait until the final ten minutes for goals from James Maddison and fit-again Jamie Vardy at Turf Moor but they had 22 attempts at Nick Pope's goal and were good value for their victory.

Leicester's attacking quality is not in doubt but, like Leeds, they have struggled to keep clean sheets.

Six of the Foxes' 12 home league matches have featured over 3.5 goals and that looks a good bet against a Leeds side beaten 4-2 by Manchester United and 4-0 by Tottenham in their last two home games under Bielsa.

Their last six road trips in the league have produced defeats at Chelsea (3-2), Manchester City (7-0), Everton (3-0) and Liverpool (6-0) as well as a 3-2 win at West Ham and a 3-3 draw at Aston Villa and that trend could continue under their new boss.

Best EFL bet

Derby v Barnsley 3pm Saturday

Barnsley's 2-1 home win over Derby in November was a rare bright spot during a run of ten defeats in 11 Championship fixtures but the Tykes are in far better form going into Saturday's reverse fixture.

Three wins in their last four games have boosted Barnsley's chances of overhauling survival rivals Reading and they look a big price to deepen the gloom at Derby this weekend.

Barnsley's victories over QPR, Hull and Middlesbrough were their reward for steadily improving performances under manager Poya Asbaghi and they have lost by more than one goal only once in their last 14 matches.

Wayne Rooney's Derby have also prided themselves on their competitive displays despite the off-field uncertainty this season, particularly at home where they have claimed eight of their ten league wins.

However, the Rams have lost four of their last five, scoring an injury-time goal to see off bottom club Peterborough 1-0 in the other one, and are there to be taken on at the prices this weekend.

Best European bet

Hertha Berlin v Eintracht Frankfurt 2.30pm Saturday

Eintracht Frankfurt have lost their last three Bundesliga matches without scoring a goal but they have a great chance to put that lean spell behind them at relegation-threatened Hertha Berlin.

There was no disgrace about Eintracht's 1-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich last weekend and they have done most of their best work away from home this season, including a 2-1 win at Bayern in October.

Oliver Glasner's side also recorded away victories at Stuttgart and Greuther Furth, the only two teams below Hertha in the standings.

Hertha signed off for the winter break with a 3-2 win over second-placed Borussia Dortmund but they have taken just two points from seven games since the season resumed and were thumped 6-1 by RB Leipzig in their last home match.

A 3-0 defeat at Freiburg, who also hit the woodwork twice, followed last weekend and Hertha could be set for more hurt on Saturday.

Oxford have scored 27 goals in their last ten League One matches and that firepower should be too much for visitors Burton, beaten 5-2 at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.

Blowout
Rotherham
The League One leaders have an outstanding defensive record but they were held to a 0-0 midweek draw at Shrewsbury and in-form visitors MK Dons are unbeaten in nine away games.
