In-form Coric can blast out Chardy
Young gun is brilliant on clay

Borna Coric clinched his first title at the Grand Prix Hassan II last week and the in-form Croat should be backed to continue his rich vein of clay form against home hope Jeremy Chardy in his opener at the Monte Carlo Masters.
The youngster was brilliant in Morocco last week and claimed the scalp of clay specialist Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the last eight before dismissing Jiri Vesely and Philipp Kohlschreiber en route to lifting the title.
It’s possible his recent busy schedule may take its toll, but Coric is only 20 years of age and should be able to overcome his exertions quicker than most.
Chardy was knocked out of Marrakech by Coric’s final victim Kohlschreiber and, having lost his only previous clay meeting with the Croat, has it all to prove.
Novak Djokovic was a second-round casualty in this event last year - going down in a decider to Jiri Vesely - but he can make amends this time by dismissing Frenchman Gilles Simon.
