Huddersfield tie up double deal for Wagner and Mooy
Boss signs two-year deal
Huddersfield's preparations for their first season in the Premier League have received a double boost with manager David Wagner signing a new two-year-contract and midfielder Aaron Mooy joining in a club record £8m deal from Manchester City.
Wagner – on a 12-month rolling contract since being appointed in November 2015 – has been rewarded for steering the Terriers into the top flight for the first time since 1972. Mooy was on loan with the Yorkshire side last season, scoring four goals in 45 league appearances.
Bournemouth have completed a club record signing by paying Chelsea a reported £20m fee for defender Nathan Ake.
The Dutch international is the Cherries’ second high-profile signing of the week – following hot-on-the-heels of England striker Jermain Defoe, who signed on a free transfer from Sunderland on Thursday.
Kieran Trippier has signed a new five-year contract at Tottenham, fuelling speculation that rival Spurs full-back Kyle Walker could be on the brink of a move to Manchester City.
Sky Bet go 2-7 that Walker joins City before the end of the transfer window and 5-2 that he stays at White Hart Lane.
Barcelona have resigned Gerard Deulofeu from Everton for around £10.5m after they activated a clause in the player's contract. The Spanish international had spent the second half of last season on loan at Milan after being told he was not part of Ronald Koeman's future plans.
