Homeboy Fu could tether the Hawk in tournament opener
Layers take Trump to bounce back after his Crucible woe
Hong Kong Masters
Starts 7am Thursday
Mark Selby is 4-7 to start his Hong Kong Masters title tilt with a victory over Neil Robertson on Thursday but while the world champion and number one should win, it may be wise for punters to expect better from the Aussie ace this season.
Judd Trump, so disappointing in the Betfred World Championship in April, is also 4-7 to open well against Shaun Murphy early on Friday morning, but the best bet for early birds could be to back Marco Fu to post a home win over Barry Hawkins at 7am on Thursday.
Happy Valley ace Fu, who enjoyed a fine campaign in 2016-17, is a shade of odds-against to see off the Hawk and that looks a backable price in an invitation-only tournament.
Hong Kong Masters best outright prices (starts 7am today): 3 M Selby, 9-2 J Trump, 5 R O’Sullivan, 8 J Higgins, 10 B Hawkins, N Robertson, 11 M Fu, 12 S Murphy.
