Hobart Hurricanes hitters could blow Strikers away
Adelaide can't cal upon brilliant spinner Rashid Khan
Big Bash final
BT Sport 2, 5.30am Sunday
Adelaide Strikers face Hobart Hurricanes in the final of the Big Bash and the Strikers will be hoping to have inspirational captain Travis Head available for the big one.
Head was released from the Australia squad at short notice for the semi-final against Melbourne Renegades and played key roles in both innings, top-scoring with 85 before claiming 1-27 from his four overs.
Even so, the Strikers' winning margin was just one run so they will be desperate for Head to be cleared to play, especially as brilliant Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan is unavailable for the final.
The Hurricanes are likely to be without leading runscorer D'Arcy Short, who has earned a call-up to Australia's Twenty20 squad, but they made light of his absence in a 71-run semi-final win over favourites Perth Scorchers.
Matthew Wade top-scored with 71 but the real damage was done by Ben McDermott, who smashed six sixes in a blistering unbeaten 67 off 30 balls. Tim Paine, George Bailey and Dan Christian are also dangerous hitters in the Hobart top order and they are worth backing to win the sixes battle in the final.
