Harlequins can keep tabs on focused Saints

Quins go to Northampton with a perfect record so far

Northampton's Ben Nutley powers forward against Sale in the Anglo-Welsh Cup

Northampton's season has been so bad that interim Saints director of rugby Alan Gaffney has named virtually his strongest-available squad for the televised Anglo-Welsh Cup clash with Harlequins.

Northampton are 1-5 shots to book their berth in the last four with victory over Quins and know that anything less will leave the door open for either Worcester or Saracens to sneak top spot in pool three.

The Warriors and Sarries face tough trips to Rodney Parade and Sandy Park but the Dragons have nothing to play for in pool two and Exeter won't either if Harlequins can secure one point at Franklin's Gardens.

Quins may decide that getting four tries is the best way to achieve that and not worry about defence but they have to be backed to stay within 14 points on the handicap when they have a perfect 15 out of 15 in the tournament and Saints lost a ding-dong battle at Exeter and broke Sale's hearts in the last minute at Salford last week.

Bath will seal top spot in pool one with a bonus-point win at Ospreys and are 2-5 for a Liberty Stadium success that will mean Gloucester not only have to clip the flying Falcons' wings in Newcastle on Saturday but also have to bag a try bonus point to stand a chance of sqeaking into the semi-finals on points difference.
