Hamilton can keep the good times rolling at stormy Sepang

Mercedes man charging towards fourth title

Lewis Hamilton on his way to victory in Singapore

Malaysian Grand Prix practice one
Channel 4 & Sky Sports F1, 4am Friday

Rain caused chaos at the Singapore Grand Prix two weeks ago and there could be more of the same in Malaysia this weekend.

Daily thunderstorms are forecast for much of the next two weeks, so punters are advised to leave it late before placing any bets on qualifying or the race, as conditions could have a huge bearing on the result.

The worst of the weather tends to come in the afternoons, though, so there is a good chance that the track will be dry for the first practice session.

Sebastian Vettel's championship hopes are in tatters after his first-lap crash in Singapore - a race he started from pole position.

Lewis Hamilton won that race from fifth on the grid to open up a 28-point lead in the title race and he should find the Sepang circuit suits his Mercedes much better than Marina Bay.

The Singapore win was Hamilton's third in a row in a season in which no other driver has won back-to-back races, so he really has the bit between his teeth now.

A series of solid drives should be enough to take a fourth title, but he would like to put it to bed as soon as possible.

Hamilton is 11-10 to go fastest in the opening practice, a feat he has managed six times this season, most recently in Italy two races ago.

The Briton rates a decent bet at that price.

Recommendation
L Hamilton fastest in P1
1pt 11-10 general
