Tournament Two of the Grand Prix Bowls Summer Season takes place in Lincoln.

In a clash of local youngsters Jonathan West looks a decent bet to get the better of Sam Ashton when they meet at 9am.

Ashton is preferred by bookmakers, but he has not had the best time of it in Grand Prix competition of late.

Ashton’s sole win in Tournament One came in a tie-breaker end and he claimed just a single set in his four matches in last year’s Winter Tournament 2.

This will be the pair’s first meeting in Grand Prix competition.

West edged former World Championship runner-up Jason Greenslade in the final of his event in Tournament One and has won three of his five Grand Prix matches.

He should go into his meeting with Ashton with senses sharpened after playing experienced Penny Strong in the day’s opening match.

Strong has a 2-0 record against Ashton, who she plays at 10am.
