Players not good enough to qualify for the rich pickings of the WGC-Mexico Championship are chasing lesser prize money in the Puerto Rico Open, a tournament loaded with chaff which will not take much winning.

Scott Brown and Matt Jones are both US Tour champions who will fancy their chances of success in this grade – Brown's victory came in this exact event six years ago – and the pair can be backed in a dual forecast at 400-1 with Ladbrokes.

Brown finished fifth in the Puerto Rico on his debut, 12 months prior to his triumph, and his last three visits have yielded form figures of 10-5-17. He relishes the track and is playing well enough to attack it, having carded four under-par rounds for ninth place in a high-class Farmers Insurance Open at the end of last month.

Jones was 13th in the Farmers and may also have found some form at the perfect time to contend at Coco Beach Golf and Country Club.
