Players at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am were unable to complete the last few holes of Friday's second round but organisers were hopeful that the final 18 holes before the cut would start on time today.

Twoball battles have been priced up by most bookmakers and there are a couple of decent bets to be had.

Spaniard Rafa Cabrera Bello should be able to get the better of Irishman Shane Lowry in the 4.44pm GMT pairing - all professionals are required to play alongside an amateur partner.

Cabrera Bello got his second round off to an excellent start on the Pebble Beach course as he hit an eagle on the second and his two-round total of seven under par has put him right in the mix to offer a strong challenge as the pair play the Monterey course today.

The Spaniard was 26th in the tournament last year and performed well in the Hong Kong Open (sixth) and the Abu Dhabi Championship (11th) before he missed the cut in Saudi Arabia last week.

He should get the better of Lowry again after he hit a 77 yesterday and is up against it to gain a place in the final round.

Four-time winner Phil Mickelson has put himself in a great position for another crown but don't be surprised if his playing partner Patrick Reed matches him all the way when they take on the Pebble Beach course at 5.39pm.

Mickelson shared the lead when second-round play was suspended but he faded a couple of weeks ago at the Desert Classic after firing an opening 60 and Reed, who had two top-15 Stateside finishes before an indifferent showing in Saudi Arabia, is still in the mix five shots off the pace.
