TV: Sky Sports Golf, 6pm Friday

Brandt Snedeker has plenty of fond memories of the Wyndham Championship and he should build on an encouraging start in Friday's second round.

He claimed the title in North Carolina last year when he opened with a 59, and Thursday's six-under-par 64 has put him in the thick of the chase.

The Nashville native didn't look back after birdies in each of his first two holes and he has carded some decent performances of late.

While the US Open saw him end up in a disappointing 77th spot, particularly as he was a former winner at Pebble Beach, and he missed the cut at the Open, he has finished in the top 20 in three of his last five regulation tournaments in America.

His putting ability came to the fore in the opening 18 holes as he gained 3.54 shots on the field in putting and Snedeker is a dangerous player when his flatstick is behaving itself.

He should be able to get the better of Billy Horschel and Chez Reavie in the 6pm BST threeball.

Horschel's recent form paints a similar picture - he was ninth at the WGC-Fed Ex St Jude Invitational last week.

However, while he was 11th in this tournament last year and fifth three years ago, some of his other Sedgefield efforts have been indifferent.

He is four shots behind Snedeker and was six off the overnight lead and he will have been disappointed by losing nearly two shots on the field on the greens.

Reavie won the Travelers Championship last month but he has missed two cuts since and was never really a factor last week.

He finished alongside Snedeker in a tie for 27th but his efforts were unspectacular while the player he partners today had one poor round and finished with an encouraging 66.

Reavie has claimed two top-ten finishes in this tournament but the last of those was in 2011 and a 37th place two years ago was the best of his last five efforts - he missed the cut on three of those occasions.
