Cold and cloudy but relatively calm conditions are expected for the first afternoon of the Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club - with some seriously rough weather creeping into the forecast for the weekend - and local lad Grant Forrest could get among the birdies.

Forrest, who finished second in an Open Championship Final Qualifier at the Renaissance in 2017 and 43rd in the Scottish Open there last year, finished the Portugal Masters strongly for 14th place last time out.

The North Berwick-based swinger looks the value option for the 12.16pm threeball, with Renato Paratore and Graeme McDowell as playing partners.
