Story so far

Late tee-times are a feature of the UK and Ireland DP World Tour events - and the final twoball of the Cazoo Classic is not off until 3.30pm at Hillside GC in Southport.

Julien Guerrier and Richie Ramsay, who are first and tied second, will be the last duo on the tee. Guerrier is one shot ahead of a trio of players, headed by three-time DP World Tour champion Ramsay.

The 2015 Hassan Trophy was the last time Ramsay tasted success, so the Scot seems likely to feel the pressure in round four. Even more so Guerrier, who is seeking his DP World Tour breakthrough.

The Frenchman won the Amateur Championship in 2006 and claimed two titles on the Challenge Tour in 2017. He was 80-1 for the Cazoo ante-post, but has become 7-2 favourite.

Pre-tournament favourite Robert MacIntyre is tied for tenth spot. The left-hander was handed a 3.30pm tee-time on Thursday and struggled to a 73, but rounds of 69 and 66 have got him back into contention.

Final-round preview

Julien Guerrier has been unimpressive when previously contending for DP World Tour titles and the 37-year-old is an unappealing option as favourite for a windy Sunday.

Richie Ramsay is winless for more than seven years, while it is almost four years since Paul Waring won his one and only DP World Tour title. It seems unlikely anyone will dominate the final day of the Cazoo Classic and hopes are high that Racing Post Sport pre-tournament 70-1 recommendation Jens Dantorp can go close to success.

Dantorp, like Guerrier, is seeking his DP World Tour breakthrough, but the difference between the pair is how recently Dantorp has lifted silverware. The Swede won his third Challenge Tour title in May, closing with a 66 for a three-shot triumph.

Dantorp appears to peaking at the age of 33, with Challenge Tour form figures of 7-23-1-5-3-3-MC-10. That spurt sees him stalking the world's top 200 and he has spoken this week about feeling ready to "do it on the big stage" and become a DP World Tour champion.

Dantorp developed neck problems on the first morning of the event and said he was in great pain for the final four holes of round one, but the physios did a superb job and the issue was resolved by Friday. A horrid burst of wind and rain hampered Dantorp in the closing stages of round two and a six at the 17th suggested that he was going to end round three on the backfoot as well. A birdie at the difficult 18th followed, though, to send the Malmo man into Sunday in high spirits.

Dantorp is two under par for the 18th hole this week - a magnificent effort - so he will fancy his chances of getting the job done should he set up a winning chance going up the final hole.

Scottish duo Grant Forrest and Robert MacIntyre seem the most likely to trouble the front four. This tournament seems almost certain to have a tight finish, with Dantorp (6-1), Ramsay (4-1), Forrest (10-1) and MacIntyre (28-1) recommended as the best bets at this stage.

Final-round twoball punters are pointed towards Dantorp, Ramsay, Forrest and Marcus Kinhult. Dantorp should be favourite against Waring (3.20pm) given the Swede's red-hot form, while Ramsay has the experience to handle the final twoball better than Guerrier.

Forrest, who won his maiden DP World Tour title on a links last summer, can be much preferred to Richard Sterne in the 3pm contest, while Marcus Kinhult, who won the 2019 British Masters at Hillside, can boss Andy Sullivan at 2.20pm.
